Oxfam Set up a monthly donation online with Oxfam charity one of the UK's most well known registered charities.
Oxfam UK is part of Oxfam International which was founded over 60 years ago to help people overcome poverty and suffering by development, relief aid and campaigns. In that period of time Oxfam have established their UK presence with their charity shops. The first Oxfam shop opened in 1948 and was the first ever charity shop. Their shops sell clothing, footwear & household items donated by members of the public to raise money for Oxfam campaigns & fund raising. Currently there are a number of specialist Oxfam shops including Fairtrade Oxfam for ethically sourced Fair Trade food & gift items, Oxfam bookshops - the largest second hand book retailer in the UK and Oxfam furniture alongside their traditional charity shops. These retail ventures help Oxfam in their work to help the millions of people struggling to survive poverty across the world. Working in over seventy countries around the globe they help people to work their own way out of a life of poverty with dignity by providing opportunities to make this a reality through local partnerships, volunteers & support. Initiatives include well building for the provision of clean water, education access for poor communities and ensuring adequate food supply by helping groups to grow crops. All this work is dependent upon support from individuals.
